"At the beginning of today the Senate Intelligence Committee served Michael Cohen with a subpoena," Cohen's lawyer Lanny Davis said in an email to AFP.
Davis gave no date, however as indicated by reports, the board of trustees needs him to show up toward the beginning of February. It was not clear whether the declaration will be open or away from public scrutiny.
On Wednesday, Davis declared that Cohen was putting off willful declaration before the House Oversight Committee booked for February 7, charging that Trump and his legal counselor Rudy Giuliani had compromised Cohen and his family.
