Mishap As Five Students Died In a Ghastly Motor Accident

Not less than five female students have lost their lives in a serious accident on Abiola Way in the Olorunsogo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State on Friday.

The Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Compliance Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, Connected the accident, resulting in a tyre burst, to Useless driving by the driver of an Unidentified Toyota Avensis.

He said the number of passengers in the vehicle couldn't be confirmed as of the time the rescue team reached to the Accident Area.

Akinbiyi also said the driver had ran away from the scene of the accident before the rescue team Arrived.

According to him, the five female students died immediately, adding that two persons sustained injuries from the accident.

He said, “Certainly, there must be a driver who drove the vehicle and escaped from the scene. The deceased are five young females who were identified as students of between the ages of 11 and 22.

“Four other persons were later brought to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, where they went into a coma after receiving the news of the death of the students.

“All the injured were taken to the FMC while the remains of the dead were deposited at the morgue.”
